IMHX unveils carbon offset plans

The organiser of IMHX 2010 has revealed bold plans to offset the carbon used at the UK’s premier logistics event.

In a move unprecedented in UK materials handling and logistics trade shows, Quartz Publishing & Exhibitions has announced that the next International Materials Handling Exhibition in 2010 will work towards being carbon neutral by offsetting the carbon produced by staging the show and by visitor travel to the venue, the NEC in Birmingham.

Delighted with the success of the first of its three regional handling shows, exhibition organiser Quartz is looking forward to ShD South West, which takes place at the Westpoint Centre in Exeter on 12th November.

Quartz specialises in organising business-to-business events and publishes market-leading magazines. As a result of our acquisitions, we are focused on the sectors of Materials Handling, Logistics and Cleaning and support services in the commercial and public sectors of industry.

Our team has decades of industry experience, and over the years has launched and managed literally hundreds of successful trade shows, and published magazine titles which have been leaders in their respective industries for over 50 years. Our aim is to grow the company and to expand into relevant areas.

To this end we are just launching a new online magazine called 'Mobile Equipment Design Components' which will support a new show with the same name. We are also expanding internationally, forming a company in the US which is run by Toby Harris, to put on business forums in the Logistics market.
